Do any gaming monitors use local dimming or is that something LED TVs only use? Reason I ask is because it seems like a nice feature to combat the nasty grey/blue back lit monitors have when the screen is suppose to be black. I have an Asus VG248QE and the response time and refresh rate are fantastic, but compared to my old Sumsung monitor, the black levels are really disappointing and look blue when playing dark games!
So, is such a feature being used in some monitors or no? And if not, is there a downside to local dimming?
