Recently removed the Xonar Sound card, mostly due to the fact i was temporarily running everything through a digital connection when i had moved to a new house and not yet got round to setting up my 7.1 setup.
It was also for better airflow since i was planning on adding a second GTX970.
I gave the D2 to a friend to use, although he has yet to install it.
Unfortunately i spilled a bottle of beer on my HT receiver yesterday, and while i will give it a few day to dry out i'm pretty sure it's done as many windows had to be opened just after:bang:
As a temporal situation i've decided to use headphones until payday when i can buy a new receiver as it's better than TV sound, so would it be better to stick with on-board ACL892 which has a headphone amp and actually doesn't sound as terrible as i expected, or ask for the Xonar card back which i don't think has a headphone amp and hope it is loud enough?
It might sound like a lazy post, but i would rather not ask for it back unless i really need to and while i know the D2 is better with speakers i never tested it with headphones as i don't really like headphone audio.
