Hi peeps
I recently discovered that my CPU (2500K) was overheating (while playing GTA5). I had the turbo boost set to 4GHz, and I'm sure that it wasn't an issue originally with my Antec Kuhler 620, although I did swap motherboards at some point.
Temps nearly instantly (5 - 10 seconds) reaches around 89 C when I stress test it with OCCT. After switching off turbo boost, temps only reach 61C.
So my questions are:
1) is 4GHz too much for this CPU with the 620?
2) is the motherboard maybe upping the volts too much for 4GHz?
3) is the 620 or CPU just showing signs of old age?
I have tried replacing the TC (although that is old as well). Ordered some new compound to test that too.
