Need help! Broken Gpu!

jeudi 16 avril 2015

Hey all. I need to figure out what is going on. So that i do not repeat the same mistake again.

I recently purchased 2 kingpin 780 ti classified cards from newegg.

Both cards are using the kraken g10. The card on top has a thick 120mm all in one liquid cooler on it and the card on bottom has a 140mm liquid cooler on it.

Both cards have their back plate, vrm plate and i modified the memory plate. I removed the part of the plate where there are screws near the gpu. This was important to remove in order to give proper clearance to the AIO liquid cooler.

Tempers on the top card was around 45 c and the bottom card is around 50 degrees C. I am using the unofficial classified controller voltage tool. The top card i gave it 1.2v and the bottom card i gave it 1.25v. PWM Frequency is 570 or something like that.

Last week while I was running heaven, my computer restarted and I got green lines across the screen. I determined it was the first card. I basically turned off the pcie lanes using my mother board and proceeded to use the second card which worked without issues.

I read up a bit and figured it must be bad vram. I did an advance RMA with EVGA received a second card.

Today. I proceeded to use the same settings. I gave the first card 1.2v and i gave the second card 1.25v. PWM Frequency remained the same at around 570. I can't remember, its as high it can go.

(It is important to note that with both cards i have the two voltage switches on.)

While Running Catzilla 1440p bench, the same THING HAPPENDS!!! My pc restarted and i received not green lines BLUE LINES!

My temperatures are once again 46 degrees C for the top card and 52 degrees C for the bottom card. The plates on both cards were warm but not hot. I have a Cosair 650 D and I have a 4 120mm noctua fans blowing on both cards.

The clock speed was 1333 ghz. It was stable! No artifacting. It was running heaven and 3dmark firestrike extreme fine.

I once again determined it was the first card that had died. The second card appears to be a champ. I don't get why it is the first card on my PC that is receiving these issues!

Here is a video of my system and of the issue that i am having.

I did to figure out what is going on. If its something i am doing wrong. It seems that the memory is overheating but that doesn't make any sense because i have the cold plate on it, the one that is supplied by the graphics card. I am not touching memory speed nor am i giving the gpu memory any additional voltage.
