Virus and Spyware definitions updating "too often"

Before, my Virus and Spyware definitions would update exactly once a week. After I did some Windows Updates, they are updating every other day. Anyone know how to change the frequency of these automatic updates? I want to go back to weekly or even monthly. I have exhausted all settings on control panel and found nothing.
