IN short I ended up buying an open box Powercolor PCS+ R9 290x from newegg.
I registered the GPU with PC and did not pay much attention to the New VIP club and their grand opening giveaway.
Anyhow the drawing was held on 4-23 with emails to the winners going out today. Well the bad news is I did not win the grand prize, however I won the first prize which is:
PowerColor TurboDuo AXR9 290 4GBD5-TDHE/OC Radeon R9 290 4GB 512-Bit GDDR5 X 2
Well the original card from newegg has had the dreaded blackscreen issues on windows start up. I have been trying to get from PC or find on the web an updated bios to see if that fixes the issues.
I am still within the 30 day newegg return on the open box.
But now that I won this contest, and will receive 2x R9 290s not the 290x I am not sure what to do.
Any advice?
