There are plenty of threads about mice, but not so much in the way of mouse pads. I am curious what all of you Guru's are using for a mouse surface?
I generally prefer a hard surface with a little bit of grit to it. For years, I was using a Razer eXact-mat but became increasingly annoyed with its small size. From there I picked up a Mionix Propus 380 and LOVED IT - that is, until the coating on the surface wore off in a matter of months :( I was seriously let down by the longevity of that and will never buy one again. I ended up finding one of the old red steel Rocketfish hard surfaces and picked that up. I love the control side of it!! It reminds me A LOT of the old Razer eXact-mat I had and offers a lot of control and precision.
Although I still have my Rocketfish and love it, I got a hook-up on a Roccat Sense mousepad and thought I would give it a try for ****s and giggles. For one, it is huge! I generally don't like cloth pads, but I actually like this one a lot. It has some form of slightly textured layer on the top, so it doesn't necessarily feel like a cloth pad. It glides very nicely, looks pretty sexy and I love the extra surface area of it. I am in a bit of a quandary now - should I stick with the Roccat Sense or go back to my trusty Rocketfish Control hard surface? lol decisions decisions. I just picked up a new Logitech G302 mouse, so I suppose I will bounce back and forth between the two to find my favorite. For now, I am still giving the Roccat pad a whirl.
So lets hear it, what do you use and what do you like about it? Do you prefer cloth or hard surface and why? :infinity:
