Just so pleased right now. I'd been using an old P5K Mainboark with a Q9400 overclocked to 3.4 for a few years. Was also using OCZ reaper DDR2 ram (4GB) clocked at about 1066. That was the best I could get out of it. It served me well for a long time.
But then a new job came along, and I was able to start buying some new stuff, and I came up with the following setup:
Asus Z99-A mainboard
i5_4690K Processor
8GB of Kingston Hyperx Fury DDR3
Arctic Freezer 13 CPU Cooler
First thing was to begin overclocking. Pushed the Processor up to 4.2 GHz and pushed the RAM to 2400 MHz
Everything is rock stable so far, and my CPU temps are 27, 29,28, and 26 across the 4 cores on idle. (This is helped largely in part by my re-used Antec Nine Hundred Two case.
So for benchmarks, here's what I've got :
SuperPi 1M : 15.864Sec old: 8.624Sec New

These are really pleasing results. Paired with a Samsung 840 SSD for the Windows7 drive, the system is cookin' with gas.
The biggest change was boot time:
Old System: 12 seconds
New system: 5 Seconds.
This is measured from the moment The BIOS screens are replaced by the Windows Lettering.
Anyway, that's all for now. Comments? Questions?
