Career Break/Travelling

Dunno about the rest of you guys but I'm getting weary of work. Last extended time off I had (as in more than 2 weeks), was summer 2008 between the 2nd and 3rd years of my undergrad degree. Not had any longer than 2 weeks off since then. Working in academic (postdoc) in London is a hard slog, following on from the equally hard slog of my PhD. Tempted to teak a few (3-4) months off when I finish to go travelling and get my album finished. This seem like a reasonable idea/any of the rest of you done the same?
