Okay, first of all I know the 2500K is an old chip. I've been running this thing at 4.5GHz @ 1.296v (spikes to 1.320v in Prime95) for the past few years. Never really had any issues until playing Arma3 that is highly unoptimized. Was thinking of trying 4.6GHz but it has been so long since I bothered with a new overclock that I'm not sure what the max voltage I want to go to is.
I seem to remember that 1.35v was a limit people were told to stay under for 24/7 use. My problem is, with my latest bit of testing for 4.6GHz, I've noticed it hitting 1.344v in Prime95 27.9. It never goes higher than 1.32v in anything else, but just as with my 4.5GHz OC, Prime95 adds on 0.024v. It was almost stable running at 1.312v (1.336v in Prime) but restarted after 5 hours. I feel confident it would be stable at 1.320v (1.344v in P) but am a little concerned with how close I would be getting to 1.35v.
With my Noctua NH-D15, my temps are fine, I'm right around 58-60C at 4.5GHz and am still in the low 60's at 4.6GHz in Prime95. Am I freaking out about the voltage?
