Hey guys, i recently acquired a broadband plan from a local ISP in India.
They provided me with a ethernet cable, and when i plugged it into my main PC, it refused to connect. The engineer helping me set it up tried to open the "network and sharing center", clicked on the "ethernet" option and opened the properties.
He then selected the IP v4 option and clicked on properties option. At this point an error dialogue box popped up, stating " In order to configure TCP/IP you must install and enable a network adapter card".
He tried to fix it to no avail, so we ended up plugging it into my laptop, which readily accepted it, and once the IP and DNS was set up, it ran perfectly fine
I have no clue as to what to do right now, I've tried downloading the drivers for my gigabyte motherboard, but installing them didnt change a thing :(
I noticed that the connection type for my pc was being detected as "ethernet" while my laptop set it to "Local Area Connection"
I dont have a modem, if thats important.
I'd appreciate any help, and I'd be glad to supply anymore details as required!
For reference, my motherboard is a Gigabyte B75M.
