I'm replacing my dual EVGA GTX 670 FTW Editions in SLI with a single MSI GTX 980 4G. I removed the old cards and plugged in the new one but it just stays in the motherboard boot screen for a long time before finally going to a blinking cursor in the upper right hand corner.
I didn't uninstall the cards from the Device Manager or uninstall the NVIDIA drivers before installing the MSI card. Do I have to? Also the MSI uses 8 pin connectors vs the 670s 6 pin connectors. I used the adapter that came with the card and the MSI light turns on when I boot the computer so I assume it's getting proper power. The manual was very sparse on information.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
