Hi fellow gurus,
I built my current system about 3.5 years ago, and am using Noctua NH-D14 which has been great. The temps would not go above 65 even with prime 95. Now for some time I have been noticing that the temps are hitting 90s even with slight load and I thought it was a good time to change thermal paste and re-apply it.
So today I took the cooler off, cleaner both surfaces using thermal paste remover and surface purifier. Thereafter I applied AS5 and put the cooler on. I fired up prime 95 and right away the temps jumped to 90s and stayed there during the time prime 95 was running. I have no idea why temps are so high now. The system is at default clocks and I have never overclocked it.
I would appreciate any help here. Thanks.
