Its the new AHVA panel (nothing to do with VA), which is basically IPS with TN like response times, which are good enough for strobing/lightboost/ulmb.
Here are the 3 that are known for 2015:
800$ Acer XB270HU (GSYNC, 27", 144Hz, 1440p, IPS)
unknown$ Acer XR341CK (GSYNC, 34" Ultrawide, 144Hz, 3440x1440, IPS)
600$ ASUS MG279Q (Adaptive Sync -unbranded FreeSync-, 27", 120Hz, 1440p, IPS)
A few words on frustrating misconceptions:
The advertised gtg is 4ms, but remember that its time for a GREY-to-GREY color shift. All other color shifts take longer. The same with ANY LCD. While your "GAMER" monitor has 1ms gtg, the real response times are around 6-8ms.
And most importantly. The "response time" is PIXEL response time and has to do with ghosting, NOT the responsiveness of the panel.
What you SHOULD care about is not imperceivable differences in ghsoting (and all LCDs will always ghost, no matter what), but you should care for INPUT LAG.
Check out the TFTCentral review of the xb270hu.

See that ghosting is a little worse if you take a close look compared to ROG Swift. You wouldnt tell the difference in games.
While the INPUT LAG is LOWER than the ROG Swift.
p.s. It is not currently confirmed if the other two will have strobing capabilities.
TLDR: These 3 monitors are in every way better than any other monitor before, finally making TN truly obsolete! Yey!
