Hi guys,
I recently installed a new Cooler Master Hyper 103 Heatsink to replace my stock AMD cooler, as it was noisy and old. In order to do so, I had to remove the mother board and everything attached, including the 280x, so i could properly fit the new heatsink.
Everything appeared fine afterwards, computer starts up etc. I went to play a game (COH2 if it matters) and after about a minute it started lagging then the entire screen went black.
I thought it was the heatsink, so I started again, re-applied thermal paste etc, and proceeded to attempt to play again. As you might have guessed, it didn't work.
I thought I would try running a test to see what was overheating, so i downloaded Furmark and ran the 1080p Benchmark, while using a hardware monitor to monitor temps etc. The CPu barely touched 40C but the GPU rocketed right up and eventually crashed on the test.
I then tried using MSI afterburner to make sure the fan was running at 100%, the same thing happened.
At this stage, I'm literally lost. I don't know what to do at all and any advice would be massively appreciated. :bang:
Many thanks,
Rob.
