I'm wondering if it would be possible for Nvidia to support VESA Adaptive Sync from the DisplayPort 1.2a standard (different from G-Sync) with a driver update for their GTX 900 series.
I'm guessing that it might be possible to write a driver that makes the G-Sync capable hardware in the GTX 900 series cards work with Adaptive Sync compatible monitors. I don't know if this is possible. Is there anyone with expertise who could make an educated guess?
I'm building a new system and want to know if the latest Nvidia cards could work with monitors in the future if the G-Sync standard ends up getting dropped by all monitor manufacturers.
