-10 FPS while holding down a key (EVO 840)

lundi 23 février 2015

Ok as stupid as it sounds i think this ssd is bugging the hell out right now.

When i get in a game, whatever the game is, if i hold down a key, any key,

i instantly get 10 fps less, if its 300 i get 290, if its 100 i get 90.. u get the point

Anyways i had no idea where to start looking for this issue so i went fo google.

People say to disable the keystroke repeat, but why would i do that if i never

had a problem with this, and it only appeared just now.

So i was wondering around, untill i noticed that when i press google chrome

when the icon on the taskbar expands, it lags, like the animation is 2 fps

so i was like, hey that should open lightning fast.. cuz my win is on my 120G evo 840

so i ran a benchmark, AS SSD bench, and the bench took like... 10 minutes

with super random freezes during the process.. to finnish. and it was freezing

only on the 4K tests, especially the read ones. So what the hell is going on

with this ssd, i optimize the performance, im on ahci, everything is set to normal

the trim doesn't seem to help, i did the performance restoration from samsung like 3 months ago

the ssd has 40GB free on space on it.. its barely 1 year old.
