Afterburner not displaying temperature properly

vendredi 13 mars 2015

Hi all, I have a Gigabyte p35w v3 laptop with a gtx970m gpu, running Windows 8.1 64bit. I've installed MSI Afterburner 4.1 mostly to monitor the CPU and GPU temperatures (as it can be conveniently minimized to the taskbar).

The problem is that although it recognizes the gpu and starts monitoring the temperature, the reading is not showing properly. The temperature reading alternates between the current temperature and zero (it does not show a constant reading). Sometimes it just turns zero and stays like that. The weird part is that if I launch a game, then it starts to read the temperature properly (without 0 values). The CPU temperature reading is fine.

I'm not sure if this is a compatibility problem with Windows 8.1 or something else... Could it be that the 0 value is the "temperature reading" of the integrated intel graphics (and the program just alternates between the two of them)? Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Thank you in advance!
