I'm trying not to spend $800+ to upgrade my whole rig, but is upgrading from an i5 3570K to an i7 3770K going to be a decent bump in gaming?
I know DX12 is going to do better with more cores, but is that limited to physical ones or will HT also boost it?
Option one: be less lazy about OCing and push the i5 past 4.2.
Option two: max out LGA 1155 with a 3770k and OC.
